What do you know?

You claim to be my voice
Claim that I'll be heard
Claim to make my life easier
Claim to care
Claim to want the best for us
But really these claims are lies
You know nothing
Want nothing more than to want people to surrender to your name
Abide by your rules
You know nothing

Monday morning arrives
I'm having to walk in the rain
Head down
Dreams up in the sky
If I could have one wish
You know what it would be?
To not have to live by you
This demon inside of me
You pin me down
Break me down
But what do you know?
You know nothing
The girl who wakes up and relays the hatred she has for herself
Wishing, just wishing to have what others don't see the value in
The emptiness
The tears to the point of numbness

You don't understand
My heart bleeds
Like the streets I live in
Daily, hourly, minutes go by
people die
Shots, stabs, you name it
We've seen it
Just the side you never see

The doctor said
He said
"Just a physical deficiency"
She'll be fine
Oh what a bloody foolish lie
Do I look fine?
Better still does this sound fine to you?
I've begged, pleaded, wished
The angel of death should take me
But all seem to say
"At least your alive"
But what does it mean to be alive
When one just wishes for her death

I can't fulfill my first dream
So I have to settle for my second
But, why must I settle
Settle for worst than second best
feeling like tarnished goods
No one warned me it would be like this
they said it was just physical
They never said physical, mental and emotional
They lied
They say we're normal when there's no such thing
Again you claim I'm part of society
When, when, when When
I'm really the outcast
The one you claim to understand
But yet I still have to push through each day
This turmoil
The one none of you get
The one you never get to feel
When you pick up the phone and instead of booking that thing you wanted
The number one thought is "Is there access?"

You get the distress
Of course you won't
Most of you will probably respond with a few tears
An 'aww' or 'Omg'
Cover your mouths to hold in your foolish tears
Claimed it touched your heart
When in reality
Come tomorrow
You'll see me
Shun me to the left
And not understand
So keep your tears
Your statements of shock
Because it's all useless
Pointless
Just get on with your lives
Let me continue to cry
In hope
You never have to go through what I do

Something you'll truly never know

B.R.A

Hewooooooooo again!

So I seem to talk about this guy a lot, but a few weeks ago Phenom released an EP Titled B.R.A (Best Rapper Alive) and the new music feeling hasn't really worn off yet! The EP has a mixture of floor fillers as well as others which are inspirational and have gotten me through my rough days!

I've given you an insight into the EP in previous posts, posting Nobody Tighter and The Way ft Wizkid, so I'll just give you a little bit of an extra push to make sure you download am (it).

Ashewo - Phenom ft Reminisce

Google the meaning if your not sure, but yeah the beat basically had me hooked and bussin moves as well as my guy Reminisce (Ibile) just fitting the track to perfection! I can't really explain how the song makes me feel I'll leave that for you to decide, but you'll understand what I mean surely!

Foje le - Phyno ft Phenom

I have developed a slight obsession with Phyno in recent weeks and it probably stemmed from this song! Like it does make you wanna do a bounce! So just rock with it! Unfortunately I'm not sure what exactly Foje le means, but if anyone knows please let me know (Learn something new everyday!)

Phenom - Hold me down

So remember I said the EP also had inspirational tracks on it? This is one of them! Bad man people wan hold me down, Bad belle people wan see me frown, But who jah don bless no man test cause bless nobody fit to hold me down....Jehovah badder than dem!

Okay I've given you a preview oya download:

I HATE MUSIC!

I hate music the fluidity it oozes the happiness it causes God how I hate it, but you won't get it it's not everyday you picture what you could do with yourself if things had been slightly different. You would feel what they feel do what they do. I'm not asking for a lifetimes worth maybe just a day or a few hours that's not too much is it? But unfortunately I just watch while others enjoy imagining what it would feel like a bit like a ghost I float into their bodies not to necessarily possess them but just to experience a little happiness. Curse my imagination I do it without thinkin, the beat pounds my Sony's I get lost within it and my imagination takes over again. Sometimes it's not even my imagination sometimes I just forget what I'm doing and go with the flow and lose consciousness this is when I'm at my least happiness because sure nuff it's slammed into me like a ton of bricks that what I'm meant to be doing ain't normal or at least when I watch it back it doesn't look normal So then its back to my secluded space where I let my nerves and neurons run wild and in place of myself I imagine others doing what I choreographed. Still no justice though, no justice at all. I just wanna know what it's like...to sway your hips to hit every note with precision, to krump. Gosh a good krumping session..imagine that? I was always an angry one and krumping just reflects that hitting everything so hard your body hurts yet everyone who sees can see the determination and drive and it suddenly doesn't look so aggressive anymore. Bit of contemporary? Being able to flex your feet, dive across the the stage and the soft music just scratches the surface of your pain and hurt towards everything you are. You hold yourself, save yourself and the crowed is dead captivated and finally just finally they understand, but your far from done. Salsa arrives and your inner Latina is set free, she is not reminded of who she's meant to be because she feels so alive. This isn't her, far from that it's something else, someone else, but words can't describe what exactly is setting her alight. All the men watch her even when none of her skin is exposed shes's covered up hiding away, but then this delicious, spice man comes towards her, forget that he stalks towards her bleeds her dry and he takes hold of her wrist piercing it slightly, her mouth draws open gasping for air but suddenly oxygen doesn't exist just for those mere seconds and the audience oh the audience their running wild, but that is the least of her concerns. the music intensifies and the hot specimen strips her exposing her flesh and drawing her towards him to his rock chest. All so soon the moment is gone it's the 70's with Elvis her feet bounce off the ground so quick it's impossible to catch. Pirouette anyone? Ballet equals pink tutus init? Instead it's heavy dark rock and it's pitch black with the occasional white flash bodies flying all over the place both big and small it's a warzone and she's lost

Somebody help me! Please I beg of you! They have me! a final bolt of thunder arrives and you jump all of sudden she's gone. Where is she?

The sky brightens and the angel appears in all her beauty. My favourite bit has arrived basked in her cultural glory. She stands up and she just as she hears the afreobeats begins, her hips are neutral just gently blowing with the wind, she has everyone going now, not for her dance, but just the songs alone. Soon she is in a trance and she let's go and she whines her waist, moves her feet even bussin small skelewu, but she doesn't care because she feels normal like a woman should/ She finally breathes the oxygen she lost and feels at home as her man, prince even stands behind her just watching her radiant smile the biggest smile he's since he almost can't believe it! It breaks his heart to know...

This is my dream
Something I'll never be able to achieve

Something I just found...

So if you haven't realized I don't really write on this blog I just post videos and that's probably because I always find songs so just come on here and share it on here and fly away, back to my sad academic life.

Anyway...

So I found this song and I just had to share it!

Phenom ft Wizkid - The Way

So just yesterday I was talking about how Phenom is like a sick rapper lyrically right? But it turns out Phenom is a lot more than that and can make a track which will sway the hips! and with the help of Wizkid it's destined to be a hit!

On the subject of Wizkid, how did he not win the artist of the year? No disrespect to the winner (Iyanya) but in all honesty Wizkid, Olamide, Burna Boy and maybe even Davido would have deserved it more than Iyanya like his album was rubbish to be honest. Or even Fire of Zimani???? that album is too much like I was really impressed.

But, anyways well done Iyanya and he better come out explosive this year if he wants to retain it because Wizkid's album has been awaited too long and should drop anytime soon, we hope! As soon as it drops I will do a review I promise!

Soca soca soca

So I just heard this now and basically I've replayed it like ten times literally! Afrobeats is travelling guys!! Trinidad and Tobago's Machel Montano teamed up with Timaya to make a remix of Timaya's hit Bum Bum and apparently it's a hit in the Caribbean so whine up ya bumper!! Perfect summer tune right? Imagine this at carnival.....

Happy Sunday guys!

2013's top tunes

Okay so I was meant to this post a while ago, but ah well I'm doing it now... My tunes of 2013 are as follows:

1. Banky W ft Sarkodie - Pon di ting

I don't always agree with Africans trying to branch into the Caribbean flow, but I have to say that Banky and Sarkodie do it well and this song was on mad repeat and I even managed a tweet from Banky himself:

2. Guru - Alkaiya

This one tune has become a small craze and although it may not be as big as the Azonto it still has made small affect on our generation.

3. Olamide - Turn up

Badddooooo did a madness last year dropping mad tunes and a mad album (BaddestGuyEverLiveth) and you can't say you don't like this tunee like are you a learner???

4. Burna Boy - Yawa Dey

7, 8 , 9, 10 Burna here for the girldemm!! He's another guy that had a good year last year and he grasps the Caribbean flavour without over doing it

5. Fuse ODG - Antenna

Okay so I don't think this song came out last year, but when I mean this song was played everywhere last year I just don't understand like it just started to annoy me at one point

6. Showa Shins, Starboy willz & Mista Silva -Ogede

My dislike to this song is real, like the stupidity of this song just annoys me. Like ogede became a big word last year and it basically refers to a man's downstairs, but being Yoruba I just found it stupid to be honest. You made a song over the hype of one word..nope

7. #NSG - Whine & Kotch ( Afrobeats remix)

Unfortunately blogger won't let me embed the video, but this video seemed to get mixed reviews, but for me I don't really mind the tune too much, the first three are the best in my opinion, the rest is just jazz

8. Davido - Skelewu

Oiii Skelewu definitely did well last year even though to me, both videos were just as bad, but still a good tune

9. Wande Coal - Rotate

Okay so last year Wande Coal left Mavin, but for me this was the best things he could have done because this tune and Amorawa are such good songs and make sure you check out Amorawa it's such a good song

10. Dammy Krane ft Pasuma - Ligali

So I love this tune because the old Fuji man like Pasuma linked up with my boo Dammy Krane and made this mad tunee Dammy Krane for the girls!!

11. Timaya - Ukwu

Ayeee you see this tune? Not even gonna say nothing it speaks for itself

12. Lax ft Wizkid - Caro

Caro your body necessary, Caro your body carry real story... I'm looking for Caro let me be honest when I first heard this tune I wasn't really feeling it,but a few replays and I was sold

13. Phenom ft Yung LOS - Nobody Tighter

So it's not always about wiggling your bum sometimes just listening to someone lyrically destroy a tune is entertaining and this tune does just that!

14. Lola Rae Watch My Ting Go

So don't thing the Male control the Afrobeats scene gotta give credit to the females and Lola Rae blew with this tune!

 15. Niyola - Toh Bad

This is another woman that had a good year and I just absolutely love this song

16. Splash ft Tipsy - Fi mi le

So these are the female rappers of the game and someone needs to teach me igbo or whatever splash is speaking because she just sounds to sick

17 Remunisce ft Wizkid - Eleniyan

Myyyyy guy reminisceee, just listen to the track my hands are too tired

18. Blackmagic - Repete

I knew nothing about this tune till my sister brought it me and I was fully impressed

19. DRB - Mrs officer

I loveeeeeee these guys like forever listening to their mixtapes and Boj's voice Mmmhmmmm

20. Sneakbo ft L Marshall - Her name

I'll be real, not the biggest fan, but it's alright

21. Kcee ft Wizkid - Pullover

Back, baby your pullover, reverse, baby your pullover

22. Flavour - Shake

Thiss guy chai chaiii

23. Don Jazzy ft Tiwa Savage - Eminado

Mama Tiwa and Uncle Jazzy

 24. Wizkid- On top your matter

25. Ice Prince ft French Montana - I swear

Just listen...

Well my hands ache and I'm tired

So Goodnight.
